Purpose
Intake receives and triages calls related to child maltreatment and determines if a family assessment or investigation by a child protection worker is necessary.
When making this determination intake looks at:
- The severity and credibility of the report
- The documented history of the family and then
- Determines whether to assign the case or "screen it out" (no agency action)
- This decision is based on the approved Chisago County Child Maltreatment Screening Criteria
