Unmanned Aerial Systems Team

The Chisago County Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Team is composed of deputies that have been trained and certified for unmanned aircraft operations. The UAS Team trains regularly and uses several different types of drones for various missions or purposes.

The use of a drone within the realm of public safety aids law enforcement in missions like search and rescue, situational awareness, disaster assessments, crime scene investigation, and over watch on calls that are high risk.

The Sheriff's Office has adopted Policy 606 - Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Operations which establishes guidelines for the use of an unmanned aerial system (UAS) and for the storage, retrieval and dissemination of images and data captured by the UAS.
