Parent Support Outreach Program (PSOP)

Parenting can sometimes be a demanding job, especially for families with young children. If you are feeling overwhelmed and are pregnant or parenting a child age 10 or under, and finding it difficult to be the kind of parent or would like to be, this program might be right for you. 

The Parent Support Outreach Program (PSOP) is an early intervention program that provides short-term voluntary support for at risk children and families identified through screened out child maltreatment reports, community or self-referrals. 

 This voluntary services program can connect you to support and assistance for many types of issues, which may include:

  • Basic needs (food, clothing, housing)
  • Family health concerns (medical care, mental and chemical services)
  • Parenting
  • Transportation
  • Child care
  • Financial needs (budgeting and financial assistance)
  • Overall support

The Parent Support Outreach Program (PSOP) focuses on a family’s strengths and needs, and helps parents who want to do what is best for their children. This program can connect families with community resources that provide the specific kind of help families may want or need.

 Participation is voluntary. Getting help to meet your family’s needs, even for a short period of time, can make a difference to you and your family.
